Hi. I am a qualified Counsellor based in North Dorset. I work with clients face to face (although not currently during the Covid pandemic), as well as online and by telephone. If you would like to find out more about me, the way I work and how I could help you, please explore my website further. You are welcome to contact me with no commitment for more information or to discuss your situation.
I work from my home in Hazelbury Bryan, near Sturminster Newton. I have experience in working with a wide range of problems: anxiety, depression, anger and rage, relationship issues, life crisis, trauma, serious illness, bereavement, childhood abuse, adult abuse and coercive control. I work with clients of any background, sexual orientation or ethnicity who are 18 or older.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means that I work with clients in a holistic way, using techniques of Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, CBT and Person-Centred counselling according to the needs of each individual client.
I trained at Iron Mill College in Exeter and have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am a Member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and as such abide by their Code of Ethics. I receive regular supervision and am committed to develop and maintain my knowledge and expertise through further training and CPD. I support my own resilience and emotional health through regular sessions with my own counsellor.
People turn to counselling for many reasons – a sudden crisis, a long-term difficulty or simply a sense of being overwhelmed by life. I believe counselling is about giving you a safe place in which to explore your distress in the company of a warm, empathic, non-judgemental therapist. I cannot provide answers but I can provide a space in which you can find your own.
I offer prospective clients a free initial consultation, lasting about 30 minutes, during which we will explore your problems and get to know each other a little. It is really important that you feel I am someone you can talk to comfortably.
If we decide to work together, we will agree a time and date for our first session. All subsequent meetings will take place at the same time each week. We will also agree whether we meet face-to-face, on Zoom or by telephone.
There is on-road parking available opposite the house and elsewhere nearby. Please park respectfully of others.

Sessions are 50 minutes once a week. Regular weekly sessions help us keep momentum and allows me to be there to support you if you find the issues difficult to talk about.
The number of sessions needed depends solely on each client. This is why I allow for a free consultation, so we can identify if there is a short or long-term issue. However further issues often come out during the course of therapy so we will review progress regularly to ensure we are both happy with the direction we are taking.
I charge £45 for each 50 minute session. This is payable by card or cash if face-to-face. Zoom and telephone sessions can be paid for by PayPal or by bank transfer. Payment is due at the end of each session.
If you would like to talk to me, either phone me on 07586 628352 or send me an email using the form below. I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
Don't forget to give me your name and phone number!
